Spain is a spectacular and diverse country situated in Europe. It is bordered to the south and east by the Mediterranean Sea; to the north by France, Andorra, and the Bay of Biscay; and to the west by the Atlantic Ocean and Portugal. Its uniqueness lies in ancient history, art and architecture. Since Spain is bordered by various countries it has been subjected to many external influences. At certain times, the country itself has been an important source of influence to other regions.

But there has occurred a certain shift in the quality and class of the tourism in South Spain. Let us discuss how the quality of tourism in South Spain has improved and shifted to unexpected levels.

1. The budget flights
The quality in the tourism of South Spain has changed because of the lower costs of flights to the popular destination. You can easily get the budget flights to South Spain such as Malaga in South Spain.

2. Residential Tourism
The residential tourism is on high rise and typically suiting the family members. It is because of the residential tourism more and more families are heading towards Spain. The residential tourism brings more relatives and family members and they do not reserve the hotels and apartments but stay in the house of a foreign resident.

These are the two shifts that require a permanent answer. The answer to this is that a price increase. The price increase will automatically shift the sector to a higher quality level.

Let us understand how price increase will actually work.

  • First the sun beds were placed near the street site of the beach, near the road. So, the space between the sun beds became limited. The space in front of the sun beds and nearer to the sea was reserved for the normal tourists with their own chairs, sunshades or towels.
  • But with the price-increase paying the same by the normal tourists was just not satisfactory. So the sun beds moved closer to the sea and with plenty of space in between leaving no more space for the other tourists using their simple towel and at the same time wondering that these tourists spend less.
  • It is because of this shift, the sun bed tourists spend more on the food and drinks served on the beach and thus attracting more and more of the right type of tourists. Thus it helps in easy sorting and this move is an obvious sign about what direction the sector is taking and what kind of tourist is welcome and which is not.
  • This shift in tourism in South Spain not only help the team in tourism department but it also help the banks who try to put their complete focus on the clients who have higher share of wallet.

Thus we see the total shift in the tourism of South Spain which is improved with the increase in price.
